They represent a dedication to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity within the insurance sector, positioning holders as trusted advisors and leaders in their field.
Designations
ABEN currently offers three Designations for States Associations to adopt. The CLCS, MLIS and AIAM. Each state has the opportunity to adopt these Designations . CLCS Specialist program
The CLCS Specialist program offers essential knowledge for those starting their careers in the insurance industry, covering fundamental principles in a user-friendly format. It encompasses key areas such as commercial auto, general liability, commercial property, and workers compensation, providing a solid foundation for understanding complex insurance concepts. Designed to bridge the gap between entry-level and advanced roles in underwriting and claims, the CLCS designation enables students to quickly apply their learning in real-world scenarios. Unlike many other designations, there are no annual updates required once the designation is earned, making it a convenient and efficient choice for aspiring insurance professionals.
Management Liability Insurance Specialist (MLIS®) program
We’re excited to introduce the Management Liability Insurance Specialist (MLIS®) program, developed in collaboration with the International Risk Management Institute, Inc. (IRMI®). This specialized curriculum focuses on directors & officers (D&O) liability, employment practices liability (EPL), and fiduciary liability insurance, areas where errors in coverage design are common. Completing the MLIS curriculum ensures a thorough understanding of professional and management liability for agents, brokers, consultants, and risk managers. The program consists of five parts, each approximately six hours long, covering core topics such as cyber and privacy liability, EPL, fiduciary liability, and D&O liabilities. To earn the MLIS certification, participants must pass online examinations with a minimum score of 70% for each course within one year. Certification holders may prominently display their MLIS designation, valid for one year and renewable through completion of an approved 6-hour class annually.
Associate in Insurance Account Management (AIAM) designation
Introducing the Associate in Insurance Account Management (AIAM) designation, the premier non-technical customer service account designation approved by IIABA’s Best Practices Council. Tailored for account representatives and managers, the web-based curriculum encompasses 12 essential topic areas, covering customer service skills, negotiation, leadership, and more. Participants must complete 13 individual webinars and pass an open-book exam with a minimum 70% score within 60 days of purchase. Once achieved, this designation enhances customer satisfaction, leading to improved retention rates and reduced E&O exposures for agencies. With no updates required to maintain this valuable designation, the AIAM program offers a convenient and comprehensive pathway to excellence in insurance account management.
NOTE: You can only earn CE in the state you are licensed in.
